Steven and I, of course, hiked up part of a hill during our free time at a Black Hills Shepherd's Retreat towards the beginning of October. Gotta move, gotta get stronger. Onward and upward always! Posted by Picasa

Sarah took this shot of our simple, contented Cookie on her new pillow from the outlet mall in Branson, MO. Posted by Picasa

We've received this "burn off in the sun" amount of snow twice already this month! Posted by Picasa

The Swann's Swimmings
This is almost slow-mo as she concentrates on the precise footwork!

Sarah gets a few pointers and the ball gets a boost from one of the assistant coaches. Posted by Picasa

Sarah gives the ball her best shot. Her enthusiasm is unbeatable! Posted by Picasa

He growls like a true tough guy but you can still see the faint traces of a boyish grin in it! Posted by Picasa

Caleb plays center almost all of the time but also does right and left guard. He thinks that is awesome because he gets to tackle the quarterback fairly often! Posted by Picasa

The Swann's Swimmings
I just ate four pieces of homemade fudge. I don't know whether to cheer or to cry. But they were fabulous.

Unbelievably, I don't have too much to say today. We are still in the interminable process of adoption/foster care. Only God knows if anything will actually happen of all this ado. If you happen to know anyone not wanting their child or children, do keep us in mind.

Our two blessings are in a light sports program in Mobridge, which is about 45 minutes from here. We travel on Saturday mornings for about six weeks to make up a season. Caleb just finished up Football and totally loved it! Loved it, loved it, loved it! Sarah has one more Saturday of Volleyball in November, as the schedules fall. She learned lots and felt all sportsy and tough, which is a pretty good feeling for our sometimes overly delicate darling.

I'm trying to attach a short movie clip of her learning to spike. I used "Movie Player" to view it. If that doesn't work for you, I'll also post some pictures of both kids on the blog.

Steven's birthday is this week but we aren't doing too much to celebrate, other than going camping that night. He prefers these low key events. I guess my preferences make up for that so we can still average out to be normal, whatever that is! At least the kids line up pleasantly in between our two extremes.
